What is a Clinical Trial?

Clinical trials are research studies performed in people that are aimed at evaluating a medical, surgical, or behavioral intervention. They are the primary way that researchers find out if a new treatment, like a new drug or diet, or medical device (for example, a pacemaker) is safe and effective in people. Often a clinical trial is used to learn if a new treatment is more effective and/or has less harmful side effects than the standard treatment. (NIH)

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO VOLUNTEER?

The age requirement is dependent on the endpoint or goal of the study.  Also, a number of important questions must be answered.  For example, what is the intended population?  Has the product been tested in healthy adults?

All clinical trial participation requires the willful inform consent of an adult or guardian, 18 years or old.  Additionally, clinical research involving minors requires their willing assent and written agreement.

IS YOUR ORGANIZATION TRANSPARENT?

Patient Privacy:  Our work is governed by HIPPA privacy rules which apply to all our interactions.

Community Relations:  Additionally, we aim to educate potential volunteers, in detail, not only on the trials we conduct but also on the Clinical Research Industry as a whole, in plain language.

Team Members: Lastly, our business model encourages transparency for our workers.  Like our participants, they too join us on the FRONTLINES.
